Revision Cx
(LAP → VGS)

Revision Cx (LAP → VGS) is a type of weight loss surgery that involves converting a laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) procedure to a sleeve gastrectomy (VSG).

In LAGB, an adjustable silicone band is placed around the upper part of the stomach to create a small pouch. This limits the amount of food that the patient can eat at one time, leading to weight loss. However, some patients may experience complications or unsatisfactory weight loss with LAGB and may need to have it revised.

Revision Cx (LAP → VGS) involves removing the gastric band and converting the remaining stomach into a sleeve shape using a stapling device. The smaller, sleeve-shaped stomach reduces the amount of food that the patient can eat, leading to further weight loss.

This procedure can be an effective option for patients who have not achieved their desired weight loss goals or who have experienced complications with their LAGB. The procedure may also be recommended for patients who have regained weight after initial weight loss with LAGB.

Revision Cx
(VGS → Mini)

Revision Cx (VGS → Mini) is a type of weight loss surgery that involves converting a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) procedure to a mini gastric bypass.

In VSG, a portion of the stomach is removed to create a smaller, sleeve-shaped stomach. This reduces the amount of food that the patient can eat, leading to weight loss. However, some patients may experience complications or unsatisfactory weight loss with VGS and may need to have it revised.

Revision Cx (VGS → Mini) involves creating a small pouch at the top of the stomach and connecting it to the small intestine, bypassing a portion of the stomach and the duodenum, reducing the amount of food the patient can eat, and limiting the absorption of calories and nutrients.

This procedure can be an effective option for patients who have not achieved their desired weight loss goals or who have experienced complications with their VSG. The procedure may also be recommended for patients who have regained weight after initial weight loss with VSG.

Revision Cx
(VGS → RNY)

Revision Cx (VGS → RNY) is a type of weight loss surgery that involves converting a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG) procedure to a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RNY).

In VSG, a portion of the stomach is removed to create a smaller, sleeve-shaped stomach. This reduces the amount of food that the patient can eat, leading to weight loss. However, some patients may experience complications or unsatisfactory weight loss with VSG and may need to have it revised.

Revision Cx (VGS → RNY) involves dividing the small intestine and connecting the upper portion of the divided small intestine to the newly created small stomach pouch. This creates a «Y» shape in the intestine, which allows food to bypass the duodenum and the first portion of the small intestine, limiting the patient’s food and calorie intake.

The revision Cx (VGS → RNY) procedure can be an effective option for patients who have not achieved their desired weight loss goals or who have experienced complications with their VSG. The procedure may also be recommended for patients who have regained weight after initial weight loss with VSG.

Revision Cx
(Mini → RNY)

Revision Cx (Mini → RNY) is a type of weight loss surgery that involves converting a mini gastric bypass procedure to a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RNY).

In mini gastric bypass, a small pouch is created at the top of the stomach and connected to the small intestine, bypassing a portion of the stomach and the duodenum. This reduces the amount of food the patient can eat and limits the absorption of calories and nutrients. However, some patients may experience complications or unsatisfactory weight loss with mini gastric bypass and may need to have it revised.

Revision Cx (Mini → RNY) involves dividing the small intestine and connecting the upper portion of the divided small intestine to the newly created small stomach pouch. This creates a «Y» shape in the intestine, which allows food to bypass the duodenum and the first portion of the small intestine. This further reduces the food and calorie intake of the patient. The revision Cx (Mini → RNY) procedure can be an effective option for patients who have not achieved their desired weight loss goals or who have experienced complications with their mini gastric bypass.

The procedure may also be recommended for patients who have regained weight after initial weight loss with a mini gastric bypass.

Revision Cx
(RNY → RNY)

Revision Cx (RNY → RNY) is a type of weight loss surgery that involves revising a previous Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RNY) procedure.

In RNY, a small pouch is created at the top of the stomach and connected to the small intestine, bypassing a portion of the stomach and the duodenum. This reduces the amount of food the patient can eat and limits the absorption of calories and nutrients. However, some patients may experience complications or unsatisfactory weight loss with RNY and may need to have it revised.

Revision Cx (RNY → RNY) involves making changes to the existing RNY procedure to improve its effectiveness. This may involve adjusting the size of the pouch, the length of the small intestine that is bypassed, or the position of the connection between the pouch and the small intestine.

The revision Cx (RNY → RNY) procedure can be an effective option for patients who have not achieved their desired weight loss goals or who have experienced complications with their RNY. The procedure may also be recommended for patients who have regained weight after initial weight loss with RNY.
